Equip your faith

Equip invites you to grow as a follower of Jesus and trains you to help others grow in Him as well.

What is Equip?

Equip is a cohort-based, intentional discipleship pathway offered at both Outward locations. Over the course of one year, Equip will help you grow as a follower of Jesus and train you to help others grow in Him as well. Equip cohorts begin at several times during the year.

What takes place in Equip?

Every Equip cohort spends ten weeks on each of the following topics:

You will focus on enriching your personal relationship with Jesus. Spiritual disciplines are explored and practiced.

Your theology and doctrinal beliefs will be anchored in historic confessional Christianity. You will learn how to articulate what you believe and why.

You will learn what it means to be a disciple-maker. You will gain tools and confidence to share your faith.

Ready to get equipped?

Equip FAQ's

Have a question about Equip? We've tried to answer some below.

How much time should I plan to commit?

In addition to the weekly cohort meeting (1.5 hours), you can plan for around 2 hours a week in reading and/or writing assignments. This varies by person.

Does Equip take the place of an Outward Group?

This is a personal decision, but most people do find that the time commitment required for Equip means taking a break from an Outward Group.

Is childcare provided?

Yes! We offer babysitting for all of our Equip cohorts.

Is there a cost?

Equip is free, but you are responsible for purchasing the books required for each of the 3 sessions. The books range in price. Outward does have an Equip "library" with a few books available to borrow.

Do I need to be an Outward member to join Equip?

Membership is not required, but we do ask that you participate in a 6-week Outward Essentials Group before applying for Equip.
